Welcome back, Marty.

Martin Pospisil is off to a hot start for the Wranglers this season, registering four points (3g,1a) in his first four games.

He tallied twice last Saturday against the Abbotsford Canucks, including scoring the game-winning goal in overtime, and wore an ‘A’ on his sweater that night, as well.

Last season was an abbreviated one for Pospisil, who missed significant time due to injury, so to get the chance to be a leader and contribute early on this season feels pretty good for the Zvolen, Slovakia native.

“It’s nice to be back with the guys,” said Pospisil. “Each game, I feel better and better and I’m getting more and more confident.”

Pospisil – drafted 105th overall by the Flames in 2018 – notched 10 points (4g,6a) in 20 games with the Wranglers last season.

He worked tirelessly to be ready for the start of the season, his fifth in the Calgary organization.

“Just stick with it,” he explained, when asked about his approach throughout his recovery.

“It doesn’t matter how tough the time is when you go through it, you just have to stick with it, don’t give up and keep working.”

During the offseason, the 23-year-old set his intention towards becoming an all-around improved player.

“I had the goal over the summer that I would be even better than I was before the injury, and that actually happened,” Pospisil explained. “I had really good fitness testing, and I was excited to come back and have a good season.”

“Just take it day-by-day and work as hard as I can,” he said. “I’m just pushing myself to be a better player, every day.”
