JOE CIRELLA ON THE GAME 2 APPROACH

“We just felt that we didn’t win enough battles. It wasn’t X’s and O’s it was basically getting outworked. It’s a work-based industry and I think we’ll have a better response.”

ON RESPONDING

“It’s one game and you learn from your mistakes, and you prepare. Now it’s response time. Let’s see how we respond to the video, the feedback. They’re professionals, they’ll be better.”

COLE SCHWINDT ON STICKING TO THE PLAN

We’ll learn from last night; we had a good talk about what we need to do better. For us it’s just sticking to what we’re good at, there’s a lot of heart in that locker room and we’re excited for tonight.”

ON LIMITING CHANCES

“They’re a fast-paced team, they like to play off the rush and create chances there, it will be our job to limit that. For us it’s just making sure (we’re) taking care of things on the back end and the offence will come.”

MITCH LOVE ON DUSTIN WOLF

“He’s a pro. I’ve seen a lot of years when he’s had response. It definitely wasn’t on him all night. As a unit of five in front of him we weren’t very good, we exposed him too much. I’m not worried about him.”

ON THE GAME 1 EFFORT

“They executed on their game plan, and we didn’t.”

“They just wanted it a little more. This time of year you can’t afford to have those nights, but it’s a reset, you’ve got to have a short term memory and come back to work with a response.”

BRETT SUTTER ON THE FOCUS HEADING INTO GAME 2

“Make sure we take a look at the video and know things we can get better at. We talked as a team in there already about getting back to the way we want to play and tightening things up a bit. We’ll be alright. We trust our group and our room and we’ll try to get the job done.”

ON REBOUNDING

“This time of year, every game is important, especially when you get into these five-game series, so we’ve got to learn from this one quick and rebound.”
