NICK DESIMONE ON TAKING IT EASY:

“It’s been good so far. Relaxing a little bit. A bit of a longer off season unfortunately, but you take some time to relax. Just started working out in June, and I’ve been playing as much golf as I can.”

ON BEING ‘NORMAL’:

“It’s nice to take some time off and put it aside for a little bit and enjoy a normal life, while you can. It’s wedding season, so me and my girlfriend have a couple weddings to go to in July and we’re going to her hometown for two weeks, just to get away.”

ON LIFE BALANCE:

“It’s a fine line of having all these things to do in the summer, it’s such a short period of time where you’re not in season, so there’s so many things to try and check off the list while also preparing for the upcoming season.”

DUSTIN WOLF ON OFFSEASON TRAINING:

“Back in the gym for probably three weeks now and it’s been kicking my butt.”

ON STAYING ACTIVE:

“Played quite a bit of golf. Me and my girlfriend went and hiked Lake Louise up to the tea house, which was quite a hike.”

ON WEDDING SEASON

“Over the last few years, I haven’t really had much of an opportunity to go to weddings or venture out and incorporate new things into my summer. It’s mainly been just family, golf, and training, so this will be my first wedding since I was a kid.”

ON GOALIE COACH MACKENZIE SKAPSKI’S BIG DAY:

“I didn’t give ‘Skaps’ much of an option, I said Hey, if you’re having a wedding, I’m coming.”

BEN JONES ON RELAXATION:

“It’s been good, I just started training a couple weeks ago, but took a bit of time off after the playoffs to let the body rest and, both mentally and physically, just remove myself from the game a little bit. I’ve been playing a ton of golf lately. Got a really bad golfer’s tan going on right now, but I guess that’s not such a bad thing.”

ON FAMILY:

“The summer is a pretty unique time where you get to be home. I get to be back at home where my family is and where my girlfriend is, so we get to all be in the same place at once, which is great.”

ON NUTRITION AND EFFICIENCY:

“The few hours a day you’re working out and skating, obviously you’re putting everything you can into it, I try to dial it in as much as I can. It’s important to take care of your nutrition and everything that comes with it, and rest is super important, especially with the summer being a lot shorter compared to playing minor hockey or junior hockey. The summer is a lot shorter now, only a couple of months, so you’ve got to take advantage of the time.”
