The Wranglers dropped a 5-1 decision to the Ontario Reign at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Tuesday night, with Dryden Hunt netting Calgary’s lone goal.
After a scoreless opening frame, the visitors broke through in the second.
Kenny Connors opened the scoring before Cole Guttman doubled Ontario’s lead shortly after.
The Wranglers clawed one back when Hunt buried a crisp feed from Rory Kerins right on the Reign doorstep, giving Calgary some life heading into the third.

However, momentum swung back to the Reign in the final period.
Jared Wright struck shorthanded to restore the two-goal cushion, with Taylor Ward and Martin Chromiak adding insurance markers to seal the result.
Calgary outshoot Ontario 29-27.
They’ll look to regroup quickly as they head into their second half of the doubleheader on Nov. 12.
