The Wranglers dropped a hard-fought 6-5 overtime decision at the Scotiabank Saddledome, with William Stromgren scoring a pair of goals, while Parker Bell, Dryden Hunt and Rory Kerins had one each.
Colorado struck first on the man advantage as Jayson Megna opened the scoring early, before Matthew Steinberg made it 2-0.
The Wranglers answered back when Bell pounced on a loose puck at the top of the crease and beat Trent Miner, with Clark Bishop picking up the assist for his 100th AHL helper.

The Eagles restored their two-goal cushion early in the middle frame through Tye Felhaber, but that marker sparked a surge from the homeside.
Stromgren kick-started the comeback, snapping a shot from the bottom of the slot after a feed from Hunt to make it 3-2.

The offence kept rolling late in the period as Kerins finished off a slick passing play, burying a feed from Stromgren after Daniil Miromanov carried the puck coast-to-coast, sending the Wranglers into the second intermission up 5-3.

Colorado pushed back in the third.
Ronnie Attard pulled the Eagles within one before Megna tied it with two minutes remaining to force overtime.
In the extra frame, Jack Ahcan found the winner for Colorado, sealing the two points and spoiling a spirited comeback effort from the Wranglers.
The Wranglers will have their shot at redemption in the New Year, when they face off against the Eagles at 1 p.m.
