The Matchup
The Calgary Wranglers host the Tucson Roadrunners for a doubleheader on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome, closing out their schedule before the AHL All-Star Break.
Calgary enters the series after earning a hard-fought point in a 3-2 overtime loss to Bakersfield on Tuesday.
Clark Bishop opened the scoring to snap an 11-game scoring drought, while Sam Morton tied the game late in regulation to continue his strong run of play.
The Wranglers will be looking to turn momentum into two points at home against Tucson.
In their last meeting, the Roadrunners shut out Calgary 4-0 at the Saddledome on Jan. 4 and currently lead the season series 5-0-1-0.
Morton has been a driving force for the Wranglers, recording five points in his last four games.
The forward posted three goals against the San Jose Barracuda on Jan. 30 and 31, along with another marker versus Bakersfield on Feb. 3.

Calgary will also welcome some familiar faces to the lineup during the NHL’s Olympic break.
Hunter Brzustewicz and Matvei Gridin are expected to suit up for the Wranglers in the upcoming matchup.
Brzustewicz last appeared in the AHL on Dec. 6 against the Ontario Reign before being recalled by the Calgary Flames.
Since then, the blueliner has recorded two points at the NHL level, including his first career goal on Jan. 25 against the Anaheim Ducks.
Gridin, recalled more recently, last played for the Wranglers on Jan. 11 against the Abbotsford Canucks, where he posted two points.
Since joining the Flames, the rookie has tallied six points, most recently scoring in the Battle of Alberta on Feb. 4.
The Other Side
Tucson enters the series looking to snap a three-game losing streak after a 5-1 loss to the Colorado Eagles on Feb. 4.
The Roadrunners currently sit seventh in the Pacific Division with 46 points, three ahead of the Wranglers in the playoff race.
Forward Cameron Hebig ranks second on the team in scoring with 36 points in 39 games.
Hebig has seven points in his last 10 games and is riding a point-per-game pace over his last two contests.
