The Matchup
The Wranglers return to the ice looking to bounce back after a 7-3 setback against Tucson at Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday night.
Calgary showed flashes of offence, but the game ultimately slipped away as the Roadrunners capitalized on key moments and special-teams opportunities.
Aydar Suniev opened the scoring on the powerplay to snap a four-game drought, while Sam Morton extended his point streak and Daniil Miromanov added a late push from the blue line.
Despite those efforts, Tucson seized control to swing the momentum.
With one final meeting against the Roadrunners remaining, the Wranglers turn the page quickly, focused on tightening up defensively and delivering a complete 60-minute effort as they look for redemption.
“Right now, individually, everyone needs to look in the mirror and be better. I think tonight a lot of our big guys got out-competed by their (Tucson) big guys, and that’s what it comes down to,” said Head Coach Brett Sutter following Friday’s loss.
Sam Morton continues his strong play, recording six points in his last five games.

“I’ve just been trying to go to the net, playing with good linemates. They put the puck there, some lucky bounces, but I’m just trying to be in that area,” Morton said of his recent success.
The Other Side
Tucson leads the season series 6-0-1-0 and sits at 48 points on the season.
The Roadrunners are currently holding the seventh and final playoff spot in the Pacific Division.
After snapping a three-game losing streak with Friday’s win, Tucson will look to build momentum and close out the series strong against the Wranglers.
Jack Ricketts led the way offensively on Friday, scoring two goals, his first tallies in eight games with the Roadrunners.
Ricketts typically plays with Tucson’s ECHL affiliate, the Utah Grizzlies.
