The Matchup

The Wranglers return to action on March 19 at 7 p.m. MT for a rematch against the Henderson Silver Knights, looking to even the score after Tuesday’s narrow defeat.

Calgary dropped a 6-5 decision in a back-and-forth battle at the Scotiabank Saddledome, setting the stage for what promises to be another intense showdown.

Henderson came out firing, but Martin Frk delivered a standout performance, scoring four goals to keep the Wranglers within striking distance throughout the night.

The contest seesawed from start to finish, with Calgary’s top line of Frk, Justin Kirkland, and Dryden Hunt leading the offensive charge.

Henderson, however, made the most of key opportunities, particularly on the powerplay, to establish a late edge.

Despite a strong third-period push, highlighted by goals from Clark Bishop and Frk’s fourth of the night, Calgary ultimately fell just short.

“There was some resiliency, a lot of fight back at the end there,” said head coach Brett Sutter postgame with the media. “Thought our big line was really good tonight, and we were able to generate and score some goals. Some positives to take out, but at the end of the day it’s about results.”

The Other Side

Henderson enters the rematch riding momentum from a strong second half, currently sitting sixth in the Pacific Division with 68 points, just above the playoff cutoff.

They were powered by several multi-point performances on Tuesday, with Raphael Lavoie putting up two goals and one assist, Kai Uchacz tallying two goals, and Ben Hemmerling posting four assists.

With the standings tightening, the Silver Knights will be pushing for another two points as they aim to climb further up the Pacific Division.
