The Matchup
The Wranglers will close out their home schedule with a doubleheader on April 10 and April 11 against the Abbotsford Canucks. The first game is set for 7 p.m. on Friday.
Calgary enters the series following a productive week of practice after their recent back-to-back set in Laval.
The Wranglers faced the Rocket on Apr. 3 and 4, earning a 5-2 victory over the North Division leaders before falling 4-3 in a shootout, splitting the series.
“I thought we had a really good road trip, guys bought in, played the right way, played for each other and that’s important this time of year so we’re looking forward to it [matchup against Abbotsford],” shared head coach Brett Sutter.
“I think the guys had a good week at practice here, a little time to rest and also get the work in. They’re excited to finish off the right way at home, and give these fans what they deserve after supporting them all year.”

Friday’s game will also mark a significant milestone, as Clark Bishop skates in his 500th AHL career game.
Bishop began his AHL career in 2016 with the Charlotte Checkers, collecting a Calder Cup in 2019. He later spent two seasons with the Belleville Senators before joining the Wranglers during their inaugural 2022 season.
Since then, he has grown into a leadership role as both alternate captain and captain of the team.
“He’s a tremendous teammate, he’s a father now, just to watch him grow and that’s a lot of games, that’s a heck of a professional. He comes to work every day, practices hard, trains hard, and he’s a really good role model for those younger players. We’re excited for him, and now they have to show up for him,” Sutter said.
Sutter and Bishop were linemates during Sutter’s playing career with the Wranglers and has now had the opportunity to coach.
The Other Side
The Canucks currently sit at the bottom of the Pacific Division standings with 55 points and a 24-37-4-3 record.
The Wranglers and Canucks have met 10 times this season, with Abbotsford holding a 6-2-1-1 advantage in the series.
Their most recent meeting came during a doubleheader on Feb. 27 and Mar. 1, where the Canucks earned back-to-back wins, edging the Wranglers 3-2 in both contests.
Abbotsford enters this matchup following a pair of losses against the Coachella Valley Firebirds, falling 2-0 on Apr. 3 and 3-2 on Apr. 4.
