The Wranglers will look to even the series against their rival Coachella Valley Firebirds at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Oct. 25 after falling 5-4 in overtime to them on Oct. 24.
The Matchup
Calgary led for most of the game, but Coachella found another gear in the extra frame to steal the win.
“I think we played 50 good minutes,” said Head Coach Brett Sutter postgame.

Leading by example, captain Clark Bishop turned in another standout performance, scoring twice, including a short-handed marker, to keep his team in the fight.
“He’s been our best player for three straight games,” Sutter praised.
The Wranglers enter Saturday’s rematch sitting eighth in the Pacific Division, while the Firebirds’ overtime victory bumped them up to fourth place.
The Other Side
The Firebirds come into Game 2 looking to build on their momentum and sweep the back-to-back set in Calgary.
Jagger Firkus continued his strong start to the season, scoring twice in Friday’s win to bring his total to six points in five games.
Coachella overcame a 3-1 deficit heading into the third period, thanks to Firkus’ pair and an overtime winner from Jacob Melanson, capping a comeback effort that showcased their offensive depth and resilience.
