The Wranglers broke open a tight defensive battle in Abbotsford on Tuesday night, skating to a 3-0 victory over the Canucks thanks to third-period goals from Yan Kuznetsov, Aydar Suniev, and Rory Kerins.
After 40 minutes of scoreless hockey, and plenty of work for goaltender Ivan Prosvetov as Abbotsford outshot Calgary 33-20 through two periods, the Wranglers found their stride in the final frame.
Kuznetsov opened the scoring midway through the third, finishing a slick feed from Martin Frk to give Calgary the breakthrough they’d been hunting for all night.

Moments later, rookie Suniev buried his first professional goal, tucking home a backdoor setup from William Strömgren to make it 2-0.

With the momentum fully tilted in Calgary’s favour, Kerins added the insurance marker, ripping one from the slot off a smart feed from Sam Morton to seal the deal.
