The Matchup

The Wranglers enter the contest with 31 points and a 13-10-4-1 record on the season.

They’re coming off a four-day game break after earning a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory over the Abbotsford Canucks on Dec. 14.

These two teams have faced off just once this season, with the Wranglers skating to a 3-2 win on Nov. 22.

This time around, they’ll enjoy the advantage of home ice.

Forward William Strömgren is nearing a milestone, sitting just four points shy of his 100th career AHL point after recording three assists in the Dec. 14 win.

“I have good linemates, they made it easier for me,” said Stromgren following the team’s win on Dec. 14.

“It was an all team effort.”

The Other Side

The Gulls come into the matchup after a 1-0 loss to the Henderson Silver Knights on Dec. 16.

The defeat places them eighth in the Pacific Division with a 10-7-6-1 record and 27 points.

Despite the setback, San Diego has won three of its last five games.

Former Wrangler Matthew Phillips, skating with his fourth team in four seasons,  continues to lead the Gulls offensively, posting 20 points (4 goals, 16 assists) in 24 games.
