The Wranglers fell 4-3 in overtime to the Gulls at Scotiabank Saddledome, with Lucas Ciona, Parker Bell, and Rory Kerins finding the back of the net in a hard-fought outing.

Box Score

Calgary opened the scoring six minutes into the first period when Ciona buried a perfectly timed feed from Andrew Basha, who did well to protect the puck along the wall before slipping the pass through.

The Gulls responded later in the frame, with Matthew Phillips levelling the score to send the teams into the first intermission tied 1-1, despite Anaheim holding a 15–10 edge in shots.

The visitors struck early in the second on the power play, as Phillips netted his second of the night.

The Wranglers answered back through Bell, who snapped his scoring drought and picked up his first point of the season, finishing a play set up by Clark Bishop.

Momentum stayed firmly with Calgary, and less than 30 seconds later Kerins cashed in at the back door, tapping home a Daniil Miromanov shot to give the Wranglers a 3-2 lead. The goal extended Kerins’ streak to four straight games.

Special teams proved costly again in the third, as Jan Mysak tied the contest at 3-3 on the power play, forcing extra time.

Overtime shifted for the Gulls, with Tristan Luneau sealing it for the visitors.

Despite the result, Wranglers netminder, Owen Say, delivered a stellar performance between the pipes, turning aside 46 shots to keep the Wranglers competitive throughout the night.
