Walking in a Winter Wranglerland
The Calgary Wranglers are kicking off their second annual Winter Wranglerfest, presented by Mr. Rooter Plumbing.
The Matchup
The Wranglers have revenge on their minds as they take on the San Diego Gulls, who claimed 4-3 overtime win at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Dec. 19.
The season series is tied, with Calgary holding a 1-0-1-0 record, and there’s even more at stake this time around.
The Wranglers are still searching for their first-ever Winter Wranglerfest goal, after falling 3-0 to Henderson on Dec. 22, 2024.
When that first goal finally hits the back of the net, the celebration will be unforgettable.
As soon as the Wranglers score, BlastyClaus will unleash 2,500 limited-edition Winter Wranglerfest gifts into the crowd.
Gifts will be tossed into every section, dropped from the rafters, and even handed out by players on the ice.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early, get settled before puck drop, and bring the energy as the Wranglers look to ignite the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Calgary currently sits fourth in the Pacific Division, adding an extra point to their total (32) after the overtime loss.
All eyes will be on Martin Frk, skating in the special Wranglerfest sweater as he plays his 500th AHL career game.
He’ll be hunting for the goal that sends the gifts flying- Frk currently leads the team in points, putting up 26 in 29 games.
The Other Side
The Gulls enter the second half of the matchup with momentum, moving from eighth to seventh in the Pacific Division.
San Diego holds 29 points with an 11-7-6-1 record, having won three of their last five games, including two on the road.
Matthew Phillips continues to lead the way for the Gulls.
Phillips recorded two goals and an assist against the Wranglers on Dec. 19 and now sits at 23 points in 25 games.
Don’t Miss the Action
