Back and looking to gain a win in the series, the Wranglers face off against the San Jose Barracuda in the second half of their double-header tonight.

The Matchup

Calgary dropped a 5-1 decision at Tech CU Arena Friday, with Sam Morton scoring the lone goal in the opening period.

Morton opened the scoring by tapping home a Zayne Parekh shot, but the game tilted after that.

San Jose responded with five unanswered goals, including two powerplay markers and a shorthanded goal, as momentum swung for the opposition.

The Barracuda outshot Calgary 42-23, and now lead 4-0 in the season series.

As the two sides meet again, Calgary will be looking for a sharper start, tighter special teams, and a more complete sixty-minute effort to flip the script against a Barracuda group that capitalized quickly on their chances.

Dryden Hunt notched the secondary assist on the lone goal Friday night.

Hunt currently leads the charge with 38 points in 29 games, posting 19 points in his last ten games.

The Other Side

The win puts the Barracuda fourth in the Pacific Division, with 49 points in 39 games played.

The Pacific Division is shaping out to be a competitive push for playoff spots, with the third- to ninth-place team in the standings separated by just nine points.

Luca Cagnoni tallied an assist Friday for the Barracuda. He is second in Barracuda points, with five goals and 21 assists this season.
