The Calgary Wranglers are hungry for a bounce-back performance as they face the San Jose Barracuda once again on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m.

Calgary fell just short in their last meeting on Nov. 6, dropping a 4-3 decision despite a strong third-period push that nearly forced overtime.

Game Recap

The Matchup

The Wranglers enter Saturday’s game sitting third in the Pacific Division with a 6-3-2 record.

Their five-game win streak came to an end against the Barracuda earlier this week, but Head Coach Brett Sutter knows the group is focused on bouncing back.

“For us, you’re on a good streak, you can’t get comfy in that you gotta raise your level every night.”

Defenceman Jeremie Poirier is just one point shy of 100 career AHL points, after collecting his 99th on Thursday.

“It’s always good to put points up on the board, but coming into this year, putting up the points is not something that I look at too much, I am just trying to focus on my overall game, ” shared Poirier.

The veteran defenceman also looked at his team performance and how the new season has brought new opportunities.

“We have to keep it simple, not do too much. We are at our best when we play the simple way, fast and effective.”

The Other Side

With Thursday’s win, the Barracuda lead the season series and improved to 4-5-1, placing them sixth in the Pacific Division.

Igor Chernyshov was a key difference-maker for San Jose, scoring both the tying and insurance goals.

The forward now has six points (3G, 3A) in ten games to start the season.
