After a 5-2 setback to the Roadrunners on Dec. 27, the Wranglers return to the ice in Tucson, looking for a response in the second half of the back-to-back on Dec. 28 at 4 p.m. MT.

The Matchup

Calgary enters the rematch with a 14-11-5-1 record (34 points), fourth place in the Pacific Division.

With a game under their belts following the holiday break, the Wranglers will be keen to tighten up and get back in the win column.

Penalties proved costly in the first stint, as Calgary spent 76 minutes in the box and Tucson converting one of five powerplay opportunities.

Martin Frk opened the scoring for Calgary in his 501st AHL game, burying a chance from the slot off a feed from Artem Grushnikov to pull his side back into the fight.

Frk also set up Dryden Hunt’s third-period tally, leaving the veteran winger just one assist shy of 200 in his AHL career.

The Other Side
The Roadrunners snapped a three-game skid with the win, getting goals from Sam Lipkin, Maveric Lamoureux, Owen Allard, Artem Duda and Dimitri Simashev.

The win still has Tucson sitting ninth in the Pacific Division, with an 11-12-4 record and 26 points in the season.
