The Wranglers closed out October on a high note, edging the Canucks 2–1 in a shootout on Wednesday night in Abbotsford.

Box Score

Daniil Miromanov netted the lone goal in regulation for Calgary, while rookie Matvei Gridin sealed the win in the skills competition.

Abbotsford struck first in the opening frame, with Sawyer Mynio slipping one past Ivan Prosvetov to give the hosts the early lead.

The second period was all Wranglers, as they outshot the Canucks 9-2 but couldn’t solve goaltender Jiri Patera.

The breakthrough came midway through the third, when Miromanov sent a snipe from the right circle off a pass from David Silye to level the score.

Despite Calgary’s push late in regulation and a tense overtime, the game needed a shootout to decide things.

In the third round, Prosvetov came up huge with a glove save to keep the Wranglers alive.

That set the stage for Gridin, who coolly buried his chance to clinch the two points.

With the victory, Calgary wraps up October with a 4-2-2 record and momentum firmly in their corner heading into November.

The Wranglers are back home Nov. 1 for the Indigenous Celebration Night and Nov. 2 as they face the Bakersfield Condors for a Battle IN Alberta doubleheader.
